Makinde demand PDD National Chairman Resignation

  The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, for the people of the South to feel a sense of belonging in the party. Makinde made this call at the South-West PDP stakeholders meeting with the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The Oyo State Governor, together with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has been tackling the PDP over the National Chairman of the party and the presidential candidate who are are from the North. However, in his welcome address, he described Atiku as “the incoming President of Nigeria in 2023.” Makinde’s description of Atiku elicited a loud applause from the PDP stakeholders at the venue of the meeting. Heartbreaking photos of a father weeping inconsolably after seeing the body of his son allegedly shot dead by police officer in Rivers State

Health authorities have declared Africa free of the wild polio virus after decades of efforts, a major step in the campaign to eradicate the crippling viral disease worldwide. Tuesday's historic announcement by the African Regional Certification Commission for Polio Eradication during a World Health Organization (WHO) event came four years after the continent's last case was reported in northern Nigeria. Man rushed to hospital after sticking beer glass up his butthole

A 53-year-old man was rushed into surgery after he inserted a beer glass into his butt hole and couldn't get it out.   The incident took place in the county of Lu in the south-western Chinese province of Sichuan.    The patient, named as Mr Huang, was taken into theatre after struggling to pull the vessel out himself.   Medics were forced to operate because the glass was firmly wedged around 6cm in his rectum.     It is believed the man inserted the glass in his bum for sexual pleasure.    Brit Dr Carol Cooper said: "Most people who do this are men, often with a sexual motive.   “While it’s good to explore one’s sensuality, shoving things like candles, spray cans, and Christmas ornaments up the rear end is taking it too far."   A British Medical Journal report warns doctors not to laugh or shame patients who end up in A&E with items up their bum.   It says: "Generally, patients with rectal foreign bodies try to re...

FIRS’ position is sequel to the recent circulation of a stamp duty clarification guide by its Executive Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Nami. According to Nami, property-related transactions like tenancy or lease agreement fall under the Ad Valorem category of the stamp duty which attracts six per cent duty payable in percentage of the total value or sum of the tenancy or lease.
