A father was left stunned after finding out that his twin babies have two different fathers as one of them isn’t his. The father made the shocking discovery after taking the newborns to undergo a DNA test as part of the standard procedure to register their births in China, a DNA analyst told reporters. The Chinese man, who remains unidentified, was astounded upon receiving the test results which indicated that his wife also had sex with someone other than him, Chinese media report. Deng Yajun, the practitioner who produced the paternity report, said that the chance for such case to happen is one in 10 million. “First, the mother needs to produce two eggs instead of one in the same month [to have twins],” Ms Deng, who is also the director of Beijing Zhongzheng Forensic Identification Centre, explained to China News Weekly. “Second, she needs to have intercourse with two men in really short space of time to make it possible. “The results showed that the children have the s...

Breaking: Oyo State Commissioner for Environment, Kehinde Ayoola, is dead

The Commissioner for Environment in Oyo State, Kehinde Ayoola, has been reported dead. It was gathered that Ayoola, former Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, had been sick for some time before his death on Thursday. The former representative of Oyo East/West State Constituency between 1999 to 2003 under the Alliance for Democracy, was Speaker between 1999 and 2003, during the administration of late Lam Adesina. He was appointed as Commissioner for Environment following Governor Seyi Makinde’s inauguration in 2019. Under his watch as the Environment Commissioner, the Oyo State Government inaugurated four environmental tribunals for the enforcement of the state environmental laws. The late Ayoola, a graduate of Animal Science and Environmental Management and Control, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and married to a Professor of Agronomy, was a member, Association of Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria. The police in Lagos state have arrested a man who battered his wife and went on Facebook to brag by sharing photos of her bleeding face. LIB had earlier reported  about how Afobaje Maiyegun, posted the photos  of his wife's bleeding face on Facebook and bragged that he was waiting for the police to arrest him. An update shared this morning, May 14, by the Lagos State Domestic & Sexual Violence Response Team DSVRT, stated that Afobaje has been arrested. Preliminary investigation showed that this isn't the first time Afobaje would carry out such a dastardly act.   The agency says Afobaje will be arraigned in court this Friday May 15.

Breaking: IG orders E-Money probe, withdraw police escort

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the probe of the Chairman, Five Star Group, Emeka Okonkwo aka E-Money, over his flamboyant lifestyle and flagrant abuse of police escorts,  The PUNCH  has learnt. Okonkwo, who is the brother to musician, Kingsley Okonkwo aka K-Cee, was said to have drawn the ire of the police boss for using policemen like domestic servants. An order, it was learnt, was immediately issued to the Lagos State Police Command to withdraw the six policemen attached to E-Money. A new data published by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS),  has shown that security guards, taxi drivers and chefs are at the highest risk of dying from the novel Coronavirus. According to the study, the three occupations had the highest rate of Covid-19 deaths among men, and were significantly higher than doctors and nurses, while care workers, home carers, bus drivers, and retail workers were also among the worst affected occupations with significantly higher death rates than the rest of the population. But surprisingly, the study data showed healthcare workers, including doctors and nurses, did not have a higher Covid-19 death rates than the general population. The ONS figures are based on an analysis of the 2,494 registered Coronavirus deaths among workers aged 20 to 64 in England and Wales up to April 20. Lagos State threatens to revert to full lock-down

SHARE TWEET Lagos State Government  has announced plans to revert to full lockdown if there is no improvement in adherence to the public health guidelines. The government noted that in the first week of the easing of the lockdown, there had been a repetitive and flagrant disregard for the earlier announced health guidelines, a move that could frustrate the government’s efforts to contain the virus. “ As a government elected to uphold the security of its citizens, which includes health security, we will not hesitate to review the terms of #EasingTheLockdown if we do not see an improvement in the adherence to our public health guidelines over the next couple of days,”  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said in a Saturday evening tweet.
